Welcome to the tournament organizer site! The first thing you'll want to do is Register a user name and Login. Once you've done that, you can organize a tournament! Instructions are below.
Tournament Administration
The first thing you'll want to do is Create A New Tournament. The form is pretty straight forward. With exception to 'Team Size', which is only required for Team tournaments, all form elements must be filled out. The elimination methods are explained by clicking the "What's This?" link. A couple of notes about creation. Make sure you choose the correct Elimination Method, Tournament Type, and Team Size. There is currently no support for changing these options once a tournament has been created.
After you've created your tournament, you can check out the details and even edit some values in the View Tournaments section. Select your tournament, and you will be taken to a page that has the tournament details. The Tournament Status value is the most important option when viewing your tournament's details.
Tournament Status: Not Started
When a tournament hasn't started yet, people can enter and withdraw from your tournament. Keep the status on this option until everybody has entered your tournament.
Tournament Status: Running
When you go from 'Not Started' to 'Running', entrants are randomly placed in a bracket whose size is the closest power of 2 to the number of entrants. The bracket can now be viewed under 'Bracket Information' by following the 'View Bracket' link. At this point, people can no longer enter/withdraw from the tournament. At the top of the page there is a list of matches that have either completed (green check beside the winner) or are yet to complete (radio buttons). To select a match winner, click the radio button beside their name. If both players were disqualified, select 'Disqualified'. It is important to note that the match labelled 'Final' may involve more than one match (in the case of Double Elimination). In that case, you select the tournament champion, not the winner of each individual match.
Tournament Status: Finished
Once the status has been changed to 'Finished', updates to tournament information (other than Tournament Status) cannot be made. This is just a simple protection mechanism to prevent admins from accidentally changing information.
